CRAFT
Japanese craftsmanship imbues every garment with a texture shaped by time.
The Old School 78 fuses contemporary design language with Japanese manufacturing craftsmanship.
From fabric selection and pattern refinement to detailed stitching, every step of the process serves a single goal: to create garments that not only look great when first worn but also evolve over time, bearing the unique marks of the wearer.
01 MATERIAL
The character of a denim garment begins with the fabric.
OS78 places great emphasis on the texture, weight, color, and feel of its denim. While maintaining structural integrity, the fabric gradually conforms to the body with repeated wear, developing natural fading, creases, and unique traces of personal use.
It may not stay brand-new forever, but the more you wear it, the more it becomes truly yours.
02 JAPANESE CRAFTSMANSHIP
We draw inspiration from the denim-making culture of Kurashiki, Japan.
Kurashiki boasts a rich heritage in textiles and denim production. From dyeing, cutting, and sewing to washing and finishing, skilled artisans—guided by a deep understanding of fabrics and details—imbue every product with a texture that is natural, understated, and enduringly appealing.
For OS78, Japanese craftsmanship represents more than just a label of origin; it embodies a profound respect for materials, time, and the making process.
03 MAKING PROCESS

01 Fabric Selection
Select the appropriate denim fabric based on the product silhouette, intended usage scenario, and desired texture.

02 Pattern Design
Translate elements of youthful charm, Harajuku culture, and retro campus style into wearable silhouettes.

03 Cutting and Sewing
Cut precisely according to the pattern, then complete the panel assembly, stitching, and structural reinforcement.

04 Washing and Finishing
Apply washing and finishing processes to achieve natural color, softness, and a vintage texture.

05 Quality Inspection
Check stitching, hardware, dimensions, and overall finish to ensure the product meets delivery standards.
04 PRODUCT DETAILS
True quality often lies in details that aren't immediately apparent at first glance.
From the silhouette and proportions, panel construction, and stitching patterns to the buttons, zippers, pockets, and edge finishing, OS78 pays close attention to every detail that shapes the wearing experience. A youthful, girlish aesthetic does not imply flimsiness, nor is a vintage style merely about a distressed look; ultimately, these elements must be translated—through superior materials and craftsmanship—into a garment designed to be worn and cherished for the long term.
